Qualified Mechanic – Loco Mechanical

Loco Mechanical is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Qualified Mechanic to join our growing team. This is a role suited to someone who takes pride in their workmanship, can lead from the front, and thrives in a quick-paced workshop environment.

About the Role
You will be responsible for overseeing workshop operations while actively working on a wide range of vehicles. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards, mentoring team members, and ensuring efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a variety of vehicles

- Experience working on mixed fleet vehicles including passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and heavy vehicles is essential

- Carry out engine swaps and transmission replacements

- Perform logbook servicing to manufacturer standards

- Complete brake, suspension, and general mechanical repairs





- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop

- Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard

About You

- Trade-qualified mechanic (essential)

- Certificate IV Automotive qualification is required

- Minimum 4–5 years post-apprenticeship experience

- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

- Proven experience with engine and transmission work

- Ability to work independently and lead a team

- High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship

- Reliable, punctual, and professional

- Previous work on performance cars is required but not essential

- Australian citizenship is required for this position
