Full-Time | Agricultural Operations | Hands-On Leadership Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the safe, reliable and efficient operation of workshop facilities, machinery, vehicles, plant, tools and equipment across a busy agricultural operation.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong mechanical and maintenance knowledge who can confidently diagnose faults, prioritise repairs, manage preventative maintenance and keep equipment operational during both day-to-day and peak seasonal periods.

You will play an important role in ensuring the workshop is organised, safe and well managed, while working closely with operators, contractors, suppliers and management.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day workshop operations, maintenance priorities, repairs and servicing.

- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for machinery, vehicles, plant, tools and equipment.

- Diagnose mechanical and equipment faults and coordinate timely repairs.

- Prepare machinery and equipment for seasonal and peak operating periods.

- Maintain accurate maintenance, asset, service, defect, repair and compliance records.

- Manage spare parts, tools, consumables, oils, fuels and workshop inventory.

- Coordinate external contractors, suppliers and service providers.

- Ensure workshop areas, machinery, tools and equipment are clean, safe and organised.

- Provide practical guidance to operators regarding the safe use, care, inspection and reporting of equipment.

- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance systems, workshop efficiency and cost control.

- Complete required paperwork,



compliance documentation and administrative tasks.

- Support a positive culture of continuous improvement, with a focus on reducing rework, downtime and avoidable equipment failures.

Safety & Compliance

Safety is a key priority of the role. You will be responsible for ensuring:

- Machinery, vehicles, plant and tools are maintained, inspected and fit for purpose.

- Pre-start checks, risk assessments, isolations and corrective actions are completed where required.

- Fuels, oils, chemicals, batteries, compressed air and other hazardous substances are stored and handled appropriately.

- Hazards, incidents, near misses and equipment defects are promptly reported and addressed.

- Contractors and service providers understand and follow relevant site safety requirements.

- Unsafe work is stopped or escalated appropriately.

About You

You will ideally have:

- Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, agricultural machinery, workshop supervision or a similar hands-on maintenance position.

- Strong knowledge of tractors, agricultural machinery, hydraulics, pumps, vehicles, small engines and workshop equipment.

- The ability to diagnose faults and prioritise repairs effectively.

- Strong organisational skills across preventative maintenance, record keeping,



parts management and inventory control.

- Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers and external service providers.

- Good communication skills and the ability to work constructively with operators, colleagues and management.

- A strong commitment to safety, housekeeping, equipment care and maintaining high workshop standards.

- Experience within agricultural, horticultural, broadacre or similar environments will be highly regarded.

Essential:

- Current driver's licence.

- Relevant machinery, chemical, forklift and/or heavy vehicle licences as required for the position.

- Demonstrated practical mechanical and maintenance capability.
