Zahra Foundation Australia is seeking an experienced and engaging Program Facilitator to join our Queensland Programs Team, delivering programs that support women and non-binary people impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) to strengthen their economic independence and develop pathways into education, training and employment.

About the Program
Pathways to Empowerment – EXPLORE is a trauma-informed work-readiness program supporting women and non-binary people impacted by DFSV to develop pathways into education, training and employment.
The program combines group-based learning with individualised support to build confidence, foundational and work-readiness skills, identify and address barriers to participation, and support participants to achieve their education and employment goals. Individual support includes case management, goal setting, referrals and connections to relevant education, training, employment and community services.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and engaging Program Facilitator to deliver Zahra Foundation’s Pathways to Empowerment – EXPLORE Work Readiness Program in Queensland.
This is a part-time position working 22.8 hours across three days per week. Two days will involve face-to-face program delivery across two locations, with one work-from-home day each week for program preparation, administration, participant follow-up and coordination.
This role combines group facilitation, individual support and case management, and employment and work-readiness support.
We are particularly interested in applicants who can engage participants experiencing barriers to social and economic participation and support them to progress towards meaningful education, training and employment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
The Program Facilitator will:
- Facilitate high-quality, supportive and engaging programs designed to support the economic independence of women and non-binary people impacted by DFSV.
- Deliver program content using trauma- and violence-informed, culturally responsive and inclusive approaches.
- Support participants to identify goals and progress towards employment, education and training outcomes.
- Provide case management and individual support, including needs assessment, goal setting, referrals and connections to appropriate services.
- Support participants to develop work-readiness and employment-related skills.
- Manage participant referrals, intake and engagement throughout the program.
- Coordinate program requirements including venues, guest speakers, catering, resources and timelines.
- Build relationships with community organisations, employment services, registered training organisations and other stakeholders to strengthen participant pathways and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate program and participant records and contribute to evaluation, data collection and program reporting.
- Represent Zahra Foundation at relevant networks, forums and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Work collaboratively with the broader Zahra Programs Team while being comfortable working independently in Queensland.
About You
Essential
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Diploma qualification or higher in community services, counselling or a related field, together with relevant experience in community or human services.
- Knowledge and understanding of DFSV, its impacts and the needs of people impacted by DFSV.
- Knowledge and understanding of trauma- and violence-informed practice, with the ability to apply these principles within program delivery.
- Experience working with adults experiencing barriers to social and economic participation,
including the ability to adapt communication and program delivery to diverse learning and communication needs.
- Demonstrated experience supporting participants to progress towards employment-related outcomes through goal setting, work-readiness activities and connections to education, training and employment opportunities.
- Experience providing case management and individual support, including needs assessment, goal setting, referrals and connection to appropriate services.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to facilitate safe, inclusive and engaging group learning environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and work collaboratively with participants, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Digital competency, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, online delivery platforms and relevant databases.
Desirable
- Two or more years’ experience working within the DFSV, community services or broader human services sector.
- Qualification or skills set in Adult Education or Training and Assessment.
- Experience developing relationships with employers, employment services, registered training organisations and other relevant stakeholders to create education, training and employment pathways for participants.
