Kimberley Mineral Sands operates the Thunderbird Mineral Sands Mine in the West Kimberley. We are bringing our tailings and slurry pipework in house and building a new services crew to do it - ten positions, working across day and night shift. We want this crew to come from the Kimberley. The Roles Available:

Poly Welder – 4 positions available

- Fusion welding, installation and repair of HDPE pipework on tailings and slurry lines

Operator – 4 positions available

- Running loaders, bobcats and an integrated tool carrier to support the crew with access, materials and pipe handling

Supervisor - positions available

- Leading the crew as an appointed s.26 Supervisor — pre-starts, planning and allocating work, permits and high-risk activities, and coaching your people

Each panel runs a poly welder and an operator working side by side.

We will train you

You do not need to arrive with everything.

- We are sponsoring suitable candidates through a poly welding course - if you have the aptitude and the interest, we will pay for the qualification
- If you have operated a small loader, bobcat or similar, we will train you on the job for the operator roles

The roster

8 days on, 6 days off, followed by 7 nights on, 7 days off.



The roster is planned ahead so you’ll know when you’ll be at home and at work months in advance.

What you will need

- A current WA driver's licence
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
- A solid approach to safety and the ability to work well in a small crew
- For the supervisor roles - supervisory or leadstand experience in mining, heavy industry or construction, and eligibility for s.26 appointment
