Make an Impact
As a Career Development Advisor within our Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program in Oaklands Park SA, you’ll help people with intellectual disability secure meaningful and sustainable employment.
You’ll work closely with participants to understand their strengths and employment goals, while proactively building relationships with local employers to identify and secure suitable opportunities.
This is an outcomes-focused role combining participant engagement, employer partnerships and business development to create successful, long-term employment outcomes.
Key duties of this role are to:
- Build relationships with participants to understand their strengths, goals and employment potential.
- Proactively identify and secure job opportunities through employer engagement, networking and business development.
- Develop strong partnerships with local employers and understand their workforce needs.
- Match participants with suitable employment opportunities and support sustainable outcomes.
- Help participants identify and overcome barriers to employment.
- Build community networks that create employment and referral opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and meet program requirements.
- Work towards agreed employment outcomes, targets and KPIs.
What you can bring to the team
You’re an engaging and proactive relationship builder who enjoys connecting with people and creating opportunities. You’ll be confident approaching employers, developing current business relationships and building genuine connections with participants.
You’ll bring resilience, strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach,
with the ability to balance participant goals with employer needs.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience in sales, business development or a target-driven environment.
- Strong relationship-building, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Confidence approaching employers and identifying employment opportunities.
- Experience working or interacting with people with intellectual disability.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence working towards employment outcomes, KPIs and targets.
- Experience in employment services, recruitment, case management, training or community services will be highly regarded.
- Strong computer literacy and record-keeping skills.
You will be required to undertake a “Fit2Work” National Criminal History Check and hold or be willing to obtain a Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
