Corindi Beach Hotel, part of the North Coast Hotel Group, is looking for an experienced and reliable Senior Cook to join its busy kitchen team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled cook who enjoys working in a fast-paced hotel environment and takes pride in delivering consistently high-quality meals.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
- Manage an allocated kitchen section during busy lunch and dinner services
- Complete daily mise en place and ensure the section is ready before service
- Maintain consistent portion sizes, quality and presentation across all dishes
- Assist with menu preparation, daily specials and seasonal menu changes
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, receiving and storing supplies
- Follow FIFO procedures and ensure correct food labelling, rotation and storage
- Minimise food waste and support effective food and portion-cost control
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace cleanliness
- Ensure kitchen equipment is used safely and report any maintenance issues
- Assist with training and supervising junior cooks and kitchen attendants
- Work closely with chefs, kitchen staff and the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service
About you
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
- Previous experience as a Cook or Senior Cook in a busy hotel, pub or restaurant kitchen
- Strong practical cooking, preparation and organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm and efficient during high-volume service
- Positive knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
