Therapist Collective is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist operating as an independent contractor under their own ABN.

This is not an entry-level chance.

We are looking for a confident, experienced go-getter who understands the NDIS, can work autonomously, build strong professional relationships and wants to grow their own business and caseload while being part of a collaborative organisation.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who wants genuine professional independence.

You will have the opportunity to:

- Build and manage your own NDIS caseload.
- Grow your own independent business.
- Develop relationships with Support Coordinators, families, providers and referral partners.
- Work flexibly across telehealth and face-to-face services where appropriate.
- Collaborate with Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners and other professionals.
- Contribute your expertise and ideas as our Allied Health services continue to grow.
- Develop a strong professional reputation within the NDIS sector.
- Work independently while remaining connected to a professional team.

We are particularly interested in someone who sees opportunities, follows through and wants to help build something, rather than simply waiting for referrals to appear.

What You'll Do

Depending on your experience and scope of practice, your work may include:

- Functional Capacity Assessments.
- Comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments.
- Capacity-building interventions.
- Daily living and independence skill development.
- Sensory and environmental assessments.
- Assistive Technology assessment and recommendations.
- Home and environmental assessments.
- Recommendations relating to accessibility and participation.
- Supporting participants across home, school, work and community environments.
- Developing evidence-based intervention plans.
- Preparing high-quality NDIS reports and recommendations.
- Monitoring outcomes and adjusting interventions as required.
- Working collaboratively with participants, families and support teams.
- Liaising with Support Coordinators,



Behaviour Support Practitioners, support workers and other allied health professionals.
- Providing education and capacity building to support networks.
- Maintaining accurate, timely and professional clinical documentation.

Experienced Practitioners

This role is designed for an Occupational Therapist who can practise with a high degree of professional autonomy.

You should be comfortable:

- Managing complex NDIS participants.
- Conducting assessments independently.
- Developing sound clinical recommendations.
- Preparing high-quality NDIS reports.
- Managing your own caseload and deadlines.
- Communicating directly with participants, families and stakeholders.
- Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Making appropriate professional decisions within your scope of practice.
- Recognising when consultation or multidisciplinary input is required.
- Building professional and referral relationships.

We value collaboration, but we are looking for someone who does not require entry-level clinical supervision to perform their core OT role.

Independent does not have to mean isolated.

Less Admin. More Time for Clinical Work and Growth.

Our administration team supports many of the practical processes around service delivery, reducing the amount of non-clinical work sitting on your desk.

Administrative support may include:

- Participant onboarding and service administration.
- Appointment and service coordination.
- Administrative workflows.
- Communication and follow-up processes.
- Practice systems and record management.
- General service-delivery administration.

You remain responsible for your professional and clinical obligations, but you don't have to spend your time doing every administrative task yourself.

Use that time to work with participants, build professional relationships and grow your business.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must have:

- The legal right to work in Australia.
- A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification.
- Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.




- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Demonstrated professional experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working within the NDIS and/or disability sector.
- An active Australian Business Number (ABN) and capacity to operate as an independent contractor.
- Appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
- Working with Children Check / Working with Vulnerable People clearance where applicable.
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
- Ability to manage a professional caseload independently.
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Commitment to ethical, evidence-based and person-centred practice.

This is an experienced practitioner position and is not suitable for new-graduate or entry-level Occupational Therapists.

Applicants must already have the legal right to work in Australia. Visa sponsorship is not available for this contractor opportunity.
