Senior Registered Nurse (General) — Practice Nurse

Location: Hazelbrook, NSW 2779 · Type: Permanent · Start: Immediately

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Registered Nurse (General) to join a well-established general practice in Hazelbrook. This senior practice nurse role offers clinical autonomy, variety, and a chance to contribute to high-quality primary care in a community-focused setting. You will be a key member of a collaborative team, working with GPs, allied health professionals, and administrative staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide professional nursing care across a broad range of primary care services including wound management, chronic disease monitoring, immunisations, and health assessments.
- Conduct clinical triage, take patient histories, perform physical observations, and execute treatment plans under standing orders and GP direction.
- Administer vaccines, injections, and medications in accordance with current clinical guidelines and practice protocols.
- Undertake chronic disease management activities for conditions such as diabetes, COPD, asthma, cardiovascular disease, and renal impairment.
- Perform wound care, suture removal, ear syringing, and other minor procedures where indicated and within scope of practice.
- Support preventive health initiatives, screening programs, and patient education to promote self-management and healthy behaviours.
- Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff and students, contributing to a positive learning environment and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, document care plans,



and ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.

Skills and Experience
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
- Proven experience in primary care, general practice nursing, or community nursing; senior-level practice preferred.
- Sound clinical assessment skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Competence in immunisation programs, wound management, chronic disease care, and basic procedural skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support patients from diverse backgrounds and across the lifespan.
- Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunisations; NSW Working with Children Check is desirable.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and practice management software is advantageous.
