Since 1974, we’ve provided our Members with financial and business solutions to make running a business easier. Our flagship Trade Account offers instant credit with over 1600 Preferred Suppliers, simplified monthly expenses, and a generous rewards program.

We have a strong foundation in the automotive and machinery aftermarkets. Our vibrant community includes over 31,000 Members across Australia and New Zealand, from national franchises to your local family workshop. Last year, Capricorn facilitated nearly $4bn in sales with our Preferred Suppliers.

At Capricorn, we're about more than just products and services. We work hard to ensure that our Members, Suppliers and People feel like they're part of something bigger: a Community which is connected and supported to make a difference, while having some fun along the way!

A Little About The Role

Reporting to the Sales Manager - Collision, you will take ownership of a direct portfolio of Panel & Paint Members across NSW and the ACT, helping deliver Capricorn’s National Collision Strategy. The role is responsible for driving sales growth, strengthening Member engagement, and providing ongoing support to Members through both direct relationship management and by guiding and collaborating with a team of Area Managers to ensure consistent, high-quality service and support across the region. Your focus will be to retain and grow existing Collision Members while creating a strong pipeline of new business opportunities across the region.

This is a field-based, Sydney-based role for someone who enjoys being in market, opening doors and turning industry relationships into sustainable Membership and sales growth. You will build trusted connections with panel and paint businesses, dealerships, insurers, suppliers, collision repair networks, industry associations and internal stakeholders.

You will develop targeted territory plans, identify commercial opportunities,

negotiate outcomes and maintain momentum across a mobile and self-directed workload. Success will come from combining business development discipline with genuine Member value, while working collaboratively and engaging others across Capricorn.

What you’ll bring

We're looking for a commercially minded self-starter who thrives on business development, building trusted relationships, driving sales outcomes, and creating value for Members. With strong industry credibility and a collaborative approach, you'll bring together Members, Supplier partners, and Capricorn Internal Teams to uncover opportunities, solve problems, and deliver results.

What’s Essential

Proven experience in sales, business development, relationship management or high-level customer service.

Strong knowledge of the panel, paint and collision repair industry, including vehicle repair processes and the wider dealership and insurance landscape.

Demonstrated ability to manage and grow a portfolio, identify new opportunities and convert relationships into commercial outcomes.

Confidence building trusted stakeholder relationships, negotiating effectively and communicating professionally at all levels.

The ability to work autonomously in a field-based role, manage competing priorities and remain accountable for activity and results.

A team-first approach, with the ability to integrate well, share information and actively engage others.

A current, valid Australian driver’s licence and capacity for frequent intrastate and interstate travel.

Highly regarded

Experience within a cooperative, member-based organisation or automotive industry network.

Established relationships across collision repairers, dealerships, insurers, suppliers,

repair networks or MSOs.

Knowledge of current collision industry conditions, market trends, key participants and commercial sensitivities.

A track record of developing territory action plans and delivering sustainable Membership or sales growth.

Qualifications A Certificate in Sales or a similar qualification, and membership of a relevant professional or industry organisation, are desirable. A sound understanding of business and corporate legislation, particularly as it relates to cooperatives and the Trade Practices Act, will also be highly regarded.
