POSITION SUMMARY

About the Role

As our Banquets Supervisor, you will support the successful delivery of conferences, weddings, social celebrations and corporate events across Pier One Sydney Harbour’s unique waterfront venues.

Working closely with the Banquets leadership team, you will coordinate event set-up and service, lead pre-shift briefings and ensure each event is delivered in line with the Banquet Event Order and our service standards. You will remain visible and hands-on throughout each event, supporting the team, responding to guest needs and resolving operational challenges as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise the set-up, service and pack-down of banquet functions and events
- Review Banquet Event Orders and ensure all event requirements are understood and delivered accurately
- Lead pre-shift briefings and allocate responsibilities across the team
- Coordinate event timing with the kitchen, event planning and operational teams
- Lead from the floor and support associates during busy service periods
- Ensure efficient, friendly and professional service is delivered throughout every event
- Monitor guest satisfaction and respond to feedback with care, confidence and urgency
- Anticipate guest needs and personalise the experience for event organisers, VIPs and returning guests
- Ensure function spaces are presented to the highest standard before guests arrive
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, food safety and sanitation
- Oversee beverage service and ensure drinks are prepared according to standard recipes
- Monitor stock levels, conduct stocktakes and ensure service equipment is handled and stored correctly




- Ensure billing is accurate and completed in accordance with hotel procedures
- Maintain compliance with liquor licensing requirements, RSA principles and workplace health and safety standards
- Train, coach and motivate associates to strengthen their service skills and product knowledge
- Support a positive, inclusive and collaborative team workplace
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas that improve service, efficiency and the guest experience

About You

- Previous experience in banquets, events or food and beverage operations, with supervisory experience highly regarded
- A confident, hands-on leadership style and the ability to motivate a diverse team
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- The ability to interpret event requirements and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards, inventory management and cost control
- A current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol certification
- Calm and solutions-focused when working under pressure
