Where You'll Be Working The Mental Health Casual Pool provides flexible nursing coverage across a wide range of inpatient units and community-based mental health services throughout the Local Health District (LHD).

Community-based mental health services also operate across the LHD, offering a variety of clinical environments and opportunities to broaden your experience. Whether you prefer to work in a particular specialty or enjoy experiencing different mental health settings, the Casual Pool gives you the flexibility to choose where and when you work, based on service requirements and your availability. Opportunities also exist to work within and alongside the award-winning YAMHS Wiyiliin Ta Yimamulinbinkaan Aboriginal Mental Health Service. Casual nursing offers genuine flexibility, allowing you to fit work around your lifestyle. About The Role

As a member of the Mental Health Casual Pool, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, person-centred care to people experiencing mental health challenges.

You Will

- Provide safe, evidence-based and recovery-oriented nursing care within your scope of practice.
- Support consumers with activities of daily living, personal care and health needs.
- Build therapeutic and respectful relationships with consumers, families and carers.
- Monitor and report changes in consumers' physical health, behaviour and mental state to the Registered Nurse.
- Contribute to the implementation of individualised care plans under the direction and delegation of the Registered Nurse.
- Assist with health promotion, recovery-focused activities and therapeutic programs.
- Support consumers with complex physical and mental health needs.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Adapt your practice to different mental health settings and consumer needs.
- Participate in 8- or 10-hour shifts, available seven days a week, depending on service requirements.
- Choose shifts across the LHD at your discretion — work close to home or explore opportunities further afield.
- Participate in community outreach roles where required, noting that some positions, particularly in rural areas, involve travel.

- Be willing to learn and develop their mental health nursing skills.

Mental Health nursing experience or qualifications are highly desirable; however, Enrolled Nurses from all clinical backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Support & Development

- Current Authority to Practice as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.

- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
