The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated Data Centre Electrical Engineer to join our Sydney team, supporting the design, engineering and delivery of Data Centre and Critical Infrastructure projects across Australia. Working alongside experienced engineers, project managers and global technical teams, you will contribute to the design of power, cooling and mission-critical infrastructure solutions that support some of the region's most demanding environments. This role offers excellent exposure to electrical design, product engineering, testing, commissioning and project delivery, making it an ideal opportunity for an engineer looking to further develop their technical and professional capabilities within a global technology organisation.
Job Experience
- 3 to 5 years' experience in Data Centres, Critical Infrastructure, Power Systems, Industrial or related engineering environments.
- Experience delivering electrical design and engineering solutions for complex projects.
- Exposure to switchboards, power distribution, UPS systems and backup power solutions.
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning, FAT activities or site technical support.
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams and manage competing priorities.
Technical / Professional Skills
- Strong understanding of MV/LV power distribution systems, switchboards and protection systems.
- Knowledge of UPS systems, batteries, backup power and critical power infrastructure.
- Experience preparing electrical engineering documentation including SLDs, schematics, layouts, calculations and technical reports.
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008 and AS/NZS 61439.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and electrical design software such as PowerCAD.
- Exposure to Revit, SolidWorks or other 3D design tools.
- Understanding of protection coordination, load calculations and power system design principles.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across local and global teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Full Australian work rights.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exposure to Data Centre electrical architectures, redundancy concepts and critical infrastructure design is highly regarded.
- Knowledge of control systems, PLC interfaces, SCADA integration or commissioning activities will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt and develop into more senior engineering responsibilities.
