About the Role

FAITHFULL is looking for a full-time, office-based Design Assistant to join our Sydney team, supporting the design and development of collections across the product categories managed by the Australian Design Team.

This is a varied role combining creative design support, technical product development, design room coordination and the preparation of design assets. Working closely with both the Sydney team and FAITHFULL’s main Design and Development team in Bali, the Design Assistant will help translate the Design Team’s creative direction into transparent and accurate communication for suppliers and factories, while supporting the day-to-day organisation and delivery of each collection.

The ideal candidate will have a strong creative eye, excellent attention to detail and a clear commercial understanding of the FAITHFULL customer. They will be technically capable, highly organised and proactive,



with experience in knitwear development and tech pack creation highly regarded. This role offers the opportunity to grow creatively and technically within the Design Team over time.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Product Development

- Support the Design Team across the design and development of product categories managed by the Australian Design Team.
- Create and update knitwear tech packs, ensuring clear communication of design direction and technical requirements.
- Support with tech packs, CADs and technical drawings across additional product categories as required.
- Assist with seasonal concepts, including creative research, colour palettes, design boards and artwork colour-ups.
- Assist with fabric, yarn and trim research, sourcing and development.
- Support fit sessions, recording and communicating design and fit updates.
- Work closely with suppliers and the Bali Design and Development Team across colour, artwork, trims and product development.

Design Room and Sample Coordination

- Coordinate development samples, including deliveries, send-outs, returns and preparation for fittings and range reviews.
- Maintain organised samples, fabrics, swatches, trims and design references, including relevant physical and digital filing.
- Ensure the Design Room, including samples, fabrics and design boards, is kept organised and presentable at all times.
- Support general day-to-day Design Room coordination as required.

Design Assets





- Assist in the preparation of seasonal design documents, pre-line decks, design handovers and presentations.
- Support the creation of internal and external sales tools, including wholesale and exclusive partnership materials.
- Ensure all design assets are accurate, visually consistent and kept up to date throughout the development process.

Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience

- A Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- 1–2 years’ design experience in fashion, with exposure to knitwear preferred and knitwear tech pack experience highly regarded.
- Strong CAD and technical drawing skills, with Adobe Illustrator proficiency essential.
- Skilled in artwork development and colour-ups, with Adobe Photoshop proficiency essential.
- Strong visual presentation skills, with proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of colour, print, fabrication, trims and garment construction.
- Strong creative and conceptual skills with an excellent eye for detail.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Comfortable working across both creative and highly organised operational aspects of the Design Team.
- A commercial understanding of the FAITHFULL customer and a passion for ethical and sustainable design.
- Availability to work full-time from our Surry Hills office, with the ability to travel as required.
