Remuneration: $153,559.00 - $182,954.00 per annum (+ super + 17.5% leave loading where applicable)

About The Role To provide leadership for Public Health services across Murrumbidgee and Southern NSW LHDs including Communicable Disease Surveillance &
- Control, Immunisation, Environmental Health, Tuberculosis Prevention and Control, Refugee Health, Health Promotion (MLHD only) and HIV &
- Related Programs in liaison with Directorate senior managers to ensure achievement of public health objectives, effective financial and performance management and delivery of safe, high quality services.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure effective financial and performance management of all Public Health Services in line with M &
- SNSW LHD Service Level Agreements within the context of the Held Services agreement between the two LHDs.
- Lead the delivery of safe, high quality Public Health services and establish effective systems to monitor, identify and address variances as they arise.
- Lead the achievement of health outcome objectives for Public Health services.
- Coordinate, promote and facilitate an integrated approach to health care delivery across care settings and across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Create and foster strategic relationships with service providers and other stakeholders within the community.
- Utilise an evidence informed approach to service delivery and development.
- Participate and support relevant research and innovation initiatives including collaboration with external partners and academic centres.
- Contribute as an active member of the NSW Health Protection Leadership Team and other groups to the development and implementation of strategic directions and plans for Statewide and District health services and ensure service delivery is based on contemporary evidence informed approaches.
- Apply relevant legislation judiciously to achieve public health objectives, including executing roles, as appropriate, within the NSW Delegations manual for Public Health.
- Fulfill Disaster management responsibilities as Public Health Controller and ensure preparedness for the Public Health Unit for public health emergency and pandemic response.
- Collaborate with managers and staff to promote M&SNSWLHD; CORE values.
- Actively promote and participate in patient safety and ongoing quality improvement programs and engage in practices that promote the best possible health outcomes for patients/clients, and supports a culture of patient safety, clinical quality and innovation.
- Lead services towards Closing the Gap of health disparities including reducing the gap in monitored performance indicators relevant to the role and facilitating workforce education and services provided to become culturally safe and secure.
Essential Criteria

- Vaccination Category A
- Protected for Work Assessment
- Evidence of current Class C drivers’ licence and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances with the M &
- SNSW LHD.
Selection Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent work experience or a combination of relevant study and work experience.
- High level expertise at a senior management level to manage effectively, prioritise resource allocation and ensure the efficient operation and delivery of health services in set timelines and achieve performance targets.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, advocacy, problem solving and risk/communication skills including written skills through preparation of briefs, business cases and plans.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of public health policy and services incorporating a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated highly developed strategic, conceptual and analytical skills to support effective and efficient service planning, delivery and evaluation.
- Demonstrated skills to create and maintain partnerships.
- NSW Drivers Licence and ability to travel for work if required.
