Working in tech at Australia Post is where innovation and problem solving meets great people and agile working. You’ll work with bright people on building and maintaining products and services that you and every other Australian get to benefit from every day. Whether you’re working from our modern office or your one at home, you’ll be part of a culture of collaboration and connection, making long-lasting impact right across Australia.
About the opportunity
Help shape the future of secure technology at one of Australia’s most trusted organisations. As Senior Manager, Enterprise Security Architecture, you will guide the evolution of our enterprise security architecture practice, setting a clear strategy, practical standards and reusable patterns that support secure, scalable and AI-enabled technology delivery across the business.
Working across architecture, engineering and cyber security, you will bring people together to build a modern, automation-first function. You will help teams understand risk, make confident decisions and embed security by design throughout delivery. Reporting to the Head of Engineering & Technology Architecture, with a dotted line to the CISO, you will have the opportunity to grow enterprise-wide security capability, advance architecture-as-code and AI-assisted assurance, and contribute to the future of secure engineering at Australia Post.
What you’ll deliver with us
Commercial & Strategic Priorities
- Own the enterprise security architecture strategy and roadmap, aligning to Post 30 priorities, E&TA; strategy, and the Cyber Security strategy. Establishing a modern, scalable, AI-first architecture practice that operates as a strategic enabler across the enterprise.
- Lead the architecture assurance function as the first line of defense for security architecture quality, reviewing solution designs across project demand, exposing risk transparently, and enabling informed enterprise decisions rather than acting as a delivery gate.
- Develop a adaptable, demand-driven team model that matches architecture support to the risk and complexity of each initiative,
with clear and measurable ways of working.
- Establish AI-first ways of working across the practice, AI-assisted solution review as the default, automated threat modelling, AI-driven pattern generation, and standards of authoring.
- Create an environment where architects can contribute, grow and do their best work through coaching, shared accountability and inclusive leadership.
Innovation and automation
- Introduce AI-assisted solution reviews, automated threat modelling and AI-supported development of security patterns and standards.
- Advance automation across the architecture lifecycle, including security pattern application in delivery pipelines, automated control validation and architecture-as-code.
- Encourage curiosity, learning and responsible experimentation while maintaining clear security and risk guardrails.
Financial
- Reduce delivery cost and rework across Lines of Business through reuse of validated security patterns, automated assurance, and repeatable architecture approaches that eliminate duplicated effort.
- Support investment prioritisation by providing risk-informed architecture insights, transparent trade-off analysis, and transparent articulation of security value versus risk to inform enterprise capital planning.
- Improve the value of security tooling and licensing by identifying duplication, simplifying platforms and aligning investment to risk and strategic priorities.
About you
You are a collaborative security architecture leader who can set direction, build trust and bring others with you. You have experience leading and developing teams in a large or complex environment, and you create the conditions for people to contribute,
challenge ideas and continue learning.
Your experience may include
- Security architecture, cyber strategy or enterprise technology, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear choices for varied audiences.
- Applying Zero Trust, cloud-first and secure-by-design principles across areas such as identity, cloud, applications, networks and data.
- Working with technologies such as Microsoft Entra ID, Auth0, CyberArk, SailPoint, AWS, Azure or GCP. Experience across every platform is not essential.
- Modern API and integration security approaches.
- Using AI, automation, architecture-as-code or policy-as-code to improve assurance, decision-making and security outcomes.
- Coaching others, building capability and creating an inclusive culture where different perspectives strengthen outcomes.
What else is in it for you?
- Bring your whole self to work every day and be met by a welcoming bunch of people who respect and support you
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, like the opportunity to work from home two days per week
- Opportunities for growth and development through formal programs or mentorship
