The Role

Our Sydney office is in search of a motivated and personable Finance Operations Officer to join the Finance Operations Team for a Maternity Leave Cover. Reporting to the Finance Operations Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient operation of daily accounts receivable workflows.

This role involves proactive management of our shared inboxes, Debtors Hub action flags, banking allocations and en-to-end Central Coast subcontractor invoicing and collections. By conducting thorough payment investigations, effectively collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders and providing exceptional client service, this role contributes directly to the overall financial performance, cash flow and operational excellence of the organisation.

This position is based in Sydney and is available to start from November, 2026.

Day-to-day Responsibilities Include

- Monitor and manage daily remittances, accurately reconciling payments and allocating receipts against outstanding invoices in Vantagepoint.
- Investigate and resolve unallocated, short and overpayments, working closely with Billers and clients to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable inbox, responding to and resolving client queries within agreed SLAs and escalating complex matters where required.
- Provide day-to-day debtor support, including following up outstanding payments, contacting clients and maintaining accurate records of collection activities.
- Drive timely collections and minimise outstanding/unallocated cash, escalating unresolved matters such as write-offs, disputes or legal issues where appropriate.
- Manage the end-to-end debtors process for Central Coast subcontractor projects, coordinating with subcontractors and clients to resolve outstanding debts and payment queries.

- Support Central Coast invoicing by reviewing subcontractor invoices, maintaining Vantagepoint tasks and coordinating approvals and processing of invoices.
- Collaborate with Clients, Consulting Staff, Billers and the wider Project Accounts team, providing support during peak periods and ensuring smooth and accurate financial operations.

The Candidate

- Previous experience in a complex Accounts Receivable environment, with strong understanding of end-to-end AR processes.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and manage financial data effectively.
- Highly process-driven and detail-oriented, with a robust focus on accuracy and quality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to troubleshoot and reconcile client accounts.
- Confident and considered decision-maker who takes ownership and follows issues through to resolution.
- Highly organised, self-disciplined and efficient, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrates initiative and accountability, consistently going above and beyond to identify issues and improve outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with clients and internal teams.
