We are currently looking for a Casual Catering Assistant to join the Spotless team at Melbourne Immigration Detention Centre located at Broadmeadows in VIC. As a subcontractor to Secure Journeys, Spotless is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, culturally diverse meals that support the overall health and well-being of individuals within the centre.

We're seeking dedicated Catering Assistants who take pride in delivering high-quality food and service. The successful candidate must have a Certificate II or higher in Commercial Cookery.

- Assist in assembling, preparing, and producing meals as directed by the Chef Manager or Head Chef.
n
- Maintain cleanliness across food preparation and dining areas, including equipment and utensils.
n
- Adhere to the HACCP Food Safety Plan by upholding food safety and hygiene standards, completing all documentation accurately and on time.
n
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure it remains clean and well-maintained.
n

To be successful, you'll have:

n

n
- Certificate II in Kitchen Operations (or higher) - (Mandatory requirement)
n
- Valid Food Safety Certificates
n
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee) - (Mandatory requirement)
n
- Prior experience in a commercial kitchen setting
n
- Sound knowledge of HACCP Food Safety guidelines
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
n
