About the role

Reporting to the relevant Operations Manager, the Hospitality & Events Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of hospitality services, venue functions, corporate events, sporting events, and community activities across Hunter Sports Centre. The role combines event planning, hospitality coordination, customer service, stakeholder engagement, operational support, and administration to ensure high-quality experiences for all clients and visitors.

Key responsibilities

- Coordinate and face to face delivery of hospitality, catering, and event operations across the venue.
- Plan and deliver sporting events, corporate functions, meetings, community events, and special functions.
- Liaise with clients, sporting organisations, schools, community groups, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Manage event bookings, scheduling, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate catering, staffing, venue setup, equipment, and event logistics.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure positive guest experiences.
- Assist with venue promotions, marketing initiatives, and event growth opportunities.
- Monitor catering budgets, invoicing, reporting, and administration requirements.
- Ensure compliance with WHS, food safety, risk management, and child-safe standards.
- Support facility operations and contribute to the ongoing development of hospitality and event offerings across the Centre.





About you

- Demonstrated experience in hospitality, events, venue operations, or a related field.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Current NSW Working With Children Check.
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Class C Driver License.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
