Role Description: The Junior Project Manager (Commercial Construction) is a full-time, on-site role based in Caringbah, NSW. This position supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of mid-tier construction and development projects, working closely with senior project managers and cross-functional teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with project scheduling, tracking milestones, preparing status reports, and maintaining project documentation and registers.
The role also involves estimating, supporting procurement and expediting activities, coordinating inspections, liaising with contractors and suppliers,
and helping manage logistics to ensure materials and services are delivered on time.
The Junior Project
Manager contributes to risk identification, quality assurance, and process improvement initiatives, while promoting VG’s standards of compliance, safety, and client service.
Qualifications
- Approximately five years' post-qualification experience in project management or contract administration on commercial construction projects in Australia.
- Tertiary qualification in construction management, civil engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated delivery experience on projects in the range of approximately $5M to $30M.
- Working knowledge of Australian standard construction contracts and the NSW Security of Payment regime.
- Familiarity with the NSW planning and approvals framework — DAs, construction certificates, occupation certificates and s4.55 modifications.
- Ability to read and interrogate civil, structural, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical documentation and specifications.
- Competence in a project management platform (Procore or equivalent), programming software (MS Project, Asta or equivalent), Excel and Bluebeam or equivalent.
- Current White Card.
- Current NSW driver licence and willingness to travel to and stay overnight at regional project sites.
- Unrestricted right to work in Australia.
- 5+ years of Construction experience
