The Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior SHEQ Advisor to join our team and help drive a strong culture of safety, quality, environmental responsibility and continuous improvement across our operations and projects.
Working closely with operational leaders, project managers and site teams, you'll provide practical SHEQ support, coaching and guidance to ensure compliance, manage risk, and improve overall performance. This is a hands-on role that combines field engagement with the implementation and improvement of SHEQ systems, processes and initiatives.
This role is a 2:1 FIFO position
Key Responsibilities Include
- Providing leadership, coaching and support to project teams on all SHEQ matters.
- Promoting a proactive safety culture through regular site engagement, inspections and observations.
- Monitoring, analysing and reporting on SHEQ performance, trends and improvement opportunities.
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of SHEQ management systems.
- Facilitating risk assessments, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), project SHEQ plans and emergency response planning.
- Conducting SHEQ audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
- Investigating incidents and supporting corrective and preventative actions.
- Managing hazard reporting, incident reporting and follow-up actions.
- Assisting with contractor onboarding, evaluation and performance monitoring.
- Delivering SHEQ training, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives.
- Building robust relationships with employees, contractors, clients and key stakeholders.
- Supporting the achievement of business objectives through practical risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role requires a visible and proactive approach, with a strong focus on supporting frontline teams and creating positive safety outcomes.
About You
You are an experienced SHEQ professional who enjoys working closely with people, influencing positive behaviours and driving continuous improvement. You are confident engaging with operational teams, can provide practical advice in the field, and are passionate about maintaining safe and compliant workplaces.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum requirement).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a SHEQ, HSE or WHS role.
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and improving SHEQ performance.
- ICAM Lead Investigator qualification.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Construction White Card.
- Current National Police Clearance.
- Current Australian C Class Driver's Licence.
Highly Regarded
- Experience within the utilities, construction, infrastructure or resources sectors.
- Qualifications or experience in risk, quality or environmental management.
- Frontline leadership experience.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Drug and Alcohol Testing qualification.
