Senior Legal Counsel - Construction - Renewable Energy

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel (Construction) to support a leading renewable energy organisation focusing on utility‑scale projects across Australia.

Summary:

- Position: Senior Legal Counsel
- PQE: 7–10 years experience
- Location: Sydney, NSW
- Salary: competitive + super + bonus

Objective:

- Provide commercially focused construction law advice and support the hiring manager as well as the construction and operations teams
- Advise on or negotiate/prepare EPC contracts, HV works contracts, split scope OEM and balance of plant contracts, civil works contracts, ECI contracts, early works contracts, EOT claims, disputes, contract terms, and contract structuring
- Identify and brief on key issues and mitigants arising from negotiation and administration of construction and operation contracts

Responsibilities:

- Legal review, drafting and negotiation of construction/operation contracts including head contracts,



subcontracts, consultant contracts, supplier contracts (engineering procurement and construction), construct‑only contracts, operation and maintenance contracts, connection agreements, design and construction contracts, and minor works contracts
- Support the Construction Team in contract administration
- Manage legal work streams on large-scale renewable energy construction projects
- Review and assist the business with construction tender processes
- Motivate and lead a high‑performing construction legal team
