Reporting into our External Affairs Lead, you will support media relations, executive communications and stakeholder engagement activities that strengthen CPA Australia's reputation and influence. Working within the External Affairs team, you'll create compelling content, identify media opportunities and translate complex topics into clear, engaging communications for journalists, members, policymakers and senior stakeholders. This is initially a 6 month contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft media releases, statements, articles and briefing materials.
- Support journalist engagement and media enquiries.
- Develop speeches, talking points and executive communications.
- Create and edit content across media, social media and corporate channels.
- Identify storytelling opportunities that support strategic priorities.
- Assist with communications campaigns, events and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Monitor media coverage and provide reporting and insights on communications performance.
About You
- Experience in media, communications, public relations, journalism or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills.
- Experience engaging with journalists and identifying media opportunities.
- Ability to translate complex business, economic or policy issues into accessible content.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and attention to detail.
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent experience.
