About the role:

An opportunity has become available for a Laboratory Supervisor to join and lead our established Darwin laboratory team, following the relocation interstate of our current supervisor. This role reports into the Laboratories Manager SA/NT and is accountable for providing leadership and laboratory services in our Darwin laboratory.

All considered applicants must satisfy the requirements of a Laboratory Supervisor in accordance with the RTAC code of practice and on-site manager in accordance with NPAAC’s requirements for supervision in the clinical governance of medical pathology laboratories.

In this role you will be responsible for:

- Performing Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) procedures

- Delivering caring, effective and efficient customer service to all patients

- Meeting operational efficiency and effectiveness targets

- Supporting the Scientific Director in implementing and improving the Monash way

- Delivering the highest success rates possible for patients

- Ensuring full compliance towards RTAC requirements

- Leading and managing the laboratory staff and communicating performance expectations

- Troubleshooting day to day business operational and technical issues

- Reporting all scientific matters to the Laboratories Manager and/or Scientific Director SA/NT as required

- Working closely with the Clinic Manager to ensure optimal operations of the clinic and patient care

- Collaborating with other scientists across Repromed to ensure the provision of an effective service to all patients

- Employee rostering, leave management, authorisation of timesheets

- Equipment maintenance and the readiness of the facilities

- Implementing approved new and varied protocols

- Maintaining quality management and assurance

- Participating in the rotating weekend roster,



as well as the on-call roster

- General laboratory admin tasks

Ideally you will bring:

- Post Graduate qualifications in Reproductive Science eg Masters or PhD in a relevant field

- Strong understanding of ART legislation, RTAC Code of Practice, and industry compliance requirements

- Experience and competence in all IVF laboratory techniques

- Experience and competence in semen analyses/freezing

- The confidence to lead, mentor and develop others

- Demonstrated track record of leading and managing others to achieve exceptional results in customer service delivery

- Motivation, enthusiasm and the ability to meet set goals/targets

- Willingness to do more than what is required or expected

- Dedication to ensuring caring, effective and efficient delivery of services

- Collaborative approach to problem solving

- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

- Superior organisational and time management skills with proven ability to multitask

- Attention to detail focus

- Advanced computer literacy skills
