Clinical Environment
You will work across Emergency Department settings within Hunter New England LHD, with exposure to varied case mixes and supportive senior clinicians.
- Diverse case mix – manage trauma, acute medical, surgical and paediatric presentations
- Hands-on procedures – build confidence in airway management, resus, plastering, suturing and acute care skills
- Senior support – work with FACEM and senior registrar supervision
- Flexible scheduling – choose ad-hoc shifts around your availability
- Stress-free locum support – travel and accommodation covered for eligible regional placements
Patient Demographic
You will support a broad Emergency Department patient mix, including adults, older patients, families, paediatric presentations, trauma, acute medical and surgical cases, minor injuries and patients requiring assessment, stabilisation or escalation of care.
Key Duties
- Assess and manage ED presentations within scope
- Support patient flow and treatment planning
- Assist with resus, procedures and acute care where appropriate
- Complete clinical documentation and handover
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately
- Work collaboratively with nursing, registrar and FACEM teams
Requirements
- AHPRA General Registration
- PGY3+ with ED or acute care experience
- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Australian working rights
- Willingness to complete local credentialing and onboarding
