The Gig

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced, commercially sharp and technically capable Lead Estimator to support the continued growth of the Queensland business. Working alongside senior leadership, Project Managers, Engineers and the broader delivery team, this key role will see you taking ownership of civil infrastructure tenders from early review through to final submission.

You’ll ply your trade across scope assessment, quantity take-offs, cost planning, construction methodology, subcontractor and supplier engagement, risk review and tender development. Beyond building a price, you’ll need to understand how the work will be delivered, test assumptions and identify the commercial and construction risks that can impact a bid.

Collaboration sits at the heart of the role, working closely with delivery teams and the market to refine methodology,



benchmark costs and strengthen tender positions. You’ll also help drive consistency across estimating and support a smooth handover from tender into project delivery.

You will be trusted with:

- Leading detailed estimates across major civil infrastructure opportunities
- Driving tender strategy, pricing approach and commercial bid positioning
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical scope documentation
- Completing quantity take-offs and detailed construction cost assessments
- Engaging subcontractors and suppliers to test current market pricing
- Assessing constructability, project risk and commercial opportunities early
- Collaborating with delivery teams on methodology and program assumptions
- Preparing tender submissions, clarifications and supporting bid documentation
- Maintaining estimating benchmarks, cost data and market intelligence
- Supporting tender handover and commercial continuity into project delivery

What’s in your toolbox?

- Strong estimating experience across civil construction or infrastructure projects
- Previous Senior or Lead Estimator experience highly regarded
- Exposure to earthworks, excavation, remediation or broader civil works
- Solid quantity take-off, cost planning and tender preparation capability
- Practical understanding of construction methodology and project risk
- Confident engaging subcontractors, suppliers and senior project stakeholders
- Relevant Civil Engineering, Construction, QS or similar qualification advantageous
