Work that matters The School of Psychology invites applications for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Psychology, with expertise in health psychology or organisational psychology. Appointment will be made at Level B or Level C, commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience and academic track record.

In this role, you will contribute to the education and development of future psychology professionals through high-quality teaching, supervision, mentoring, research and professional practice. You will help create engaging learning experiences, strengthen the School’s research and professional activities and contribute to a collaborative academic community.

At Senior Lecturer level, you will also provide academic leadership across teaching, research and professional practice, mentor colleagues and contribute to the ongoing development of capability within the School.

The team The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer will join the School of Psychology within the College of Education, Behavioural and Social Sciences and will report to Professor Peter Strelan, Dean of the School of Psychology.

You will work alongside leading researchers, educators and practitioners within a team-oriented academic environment, with opportunities to contribute to organisational and human factors psychology and build connections across disciplines, skilled practice and industry.

Experience To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience:

Lecturer Level B:

1. A Masters degree or equivalent in Psychology
2. Registration as a Psychologist in Australia, with Endorsement in Health or Organisational Psychology, or the ability and willingness to gain Endorsement.
3. Board Approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia, or the ability and willingness to gain supervisor status.
4. Demonstrated experience of placement supervision
5. Clearly defined research interests aligned with the School’s research strengths.
6. A developing record of quality peer-reviewed publications, relative to opportunity.
7. Ability to supervise the research of undergraduate, honours or postgraduate students, relative to chance.
8. Knowledge of modern teaching pedagogy (e.g., flipped classrooms, simulation) and authentic assessment practices and demonstrated ability and willingness to implement them.
9.



Demonstrated ability to be adaptable to a changing education environment including online teaching.
10. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
11. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the Adelaide University’s values.

Desirable Criteria

- A PhD in the area of Organisational Psychology or Health Psychology or the willingness to enrol in a PhD

Senior Lecturer Level C

1. A doctoral qualification in Psychological Science or in a related field
2. Experience in program co-ordination
3. Experience taking significant roles in research projects including, where appropriate, leadership of a research team;
4. Demonstrated record of the development and delivery of excellent teaching and learning experiences in a range of settings and student experience levels.
5. Experience in postgraduate supervision, and a history of success in completion of doctoral and master’s candidates.
