Ready to take the next step in your nursing leadership career? This is an prospect to step into a Nurse Unit Manager Level 1 role where your leadership can directly influence the delivery of outpatient surgical services.
Working predominantly within an outpatient clinic, you'll lead an established, close-knit team and work alongside a multidisciplinary group supporting elective surgery patients. No two days will be the same, with the opportunity to balance clinical leadership, team development, service improvement and operational priorities.

As Nurse Unit Manager, you'll provide leadership and direction to the nursing team while supporting high-quality, patient-centred care. You'll mentor and develop staff, foster a positive workplace culture and work collaboratively across the multidisciplinary team.
You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to transformational change across surgical outpatient services, with a focus on improving access, service delivery and patient outcomes.
Your experience in outpatient nursing and leadership will be highly valued, particularly your understanding of surgical targets, access and strategies to support waitlist reduction.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for an experienced nursing leader who can:
- Must have outpatient experience
- Lead, mentor and support an established nursing team
- Experience with transformational change in surgical outpatient services and waitlist reduction strategies will be highly regarded.
- Bring strong outpatient nursing experience
- Demonstrate nursing leadership and team management experience
- Work confidently across multidisciplinary teams
- Understand surgical targets, patient access and elective surgery pathways
- Lead and support change within a busy outpatient environment
- Contribute to strategies that improve service delivery and reduce waitlists
Essential Criteria
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
