TAFE Queensland is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the Faculty of Nursing and Community Services within the Brisbane region.

Multiple temporary full time and part-time opportunities are available for an immediate start through to 25 June 2027.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Nursing Teacher, you will:

- Deliver engaging nursing education across classroom, simulation and clinical learning environments.
- Support students to develop practical and theoretical nursing knowledge.
- Assess student competency and provide constructive feedback.
- Monitor student progress and support learner success.
- Participate in industry engagement and student placement activities.
- Develop and maintain high-quality learning and assessment resources.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create a safe, inclusive and student-centred learning environment.

You will work collaboratively with a team of educators committed to delivering high-quality vocational education and training outcomes.

Salary

Teacher Level 4 $105,218.10 per annum (full-time equivalent) plus 12.75% superannuation.

About You

We are looking for experienced Registered Nurses with contemporary clinical expertise, strong communication skills and a passion for supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must possess

- Bachelor of Nursing or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A minimum of five (5) years' contemporary nursing industry experience, supported by current industry skills relevant to the training and assessment being delivered.
- Current Queensland Driver Licence.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card).

Applicants must also possess one of the following recognised training and assessment qualifications:
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus required TAELLN411 Address Adult Language,



Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools units.
- TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training.
- TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, or its successor.
- TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development.
- TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor.
- A higher-level qualification in adult education, approved by TAFE Queensland.

Proof of qualifications, registration and industry currency will be required during the recruitment process.

Highly Desirable

We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who possess:

- Postgraduate qualifications and/or demonstrated clinical expertise in Mental Health
- Acute Care
- Primary Health Care
- Palliative Care
- Wound Care; and/or Nursing Research.
- Experience delivering education or training in workplace, tertiary or vocational settings.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems and online learning platforms.
- Strong learner support and student engagement skills.
- Experience working with diverse student cohorts.

New to Teaching? Teaching Experience Is Not Essential. TAFE Queensland recognises that many excellent educators come directly from industry and may be transitioning into teaching for the first time. For suitable candidates, support may be available through our educator development pathways, including coaching, mentoring and professional development opportunities.
