Salary Range: $102,936 - 113,579 plus superannuation and leave loading

Location: Parramatta, Orange and Goulburn - Hybrid opportunity. In-office requirement 2-3 days a week as a minimum, which could be subject to change based on applicable DCS workplace policies.

About the team
Government Shared Services (GSS) is a new division in DCS that is leading the way in streamlining processes and transactional shared services to allow our people to better focus on their customers and delivering their services.
We are developing and delivering a roadmap to leverage technology, streamline processes, replace legacy systems and deliver a consistent experience to more than 100+ agencies across 8 NSW Government Departments.

What you will do
- · Undertake pre, live and post payroll production processing and validation to enable accurate payroll execution and timely payment of payroll and associated entitlements.
- · Investigate and resolve errors or discrepancies identified during the payroll production process and implement improvements to procedures and checklists to prevent recurrence and enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency and integrity.
- · Maintain up-to-date payroll procedures and checklists to ensure consistent and accurate payroll production outcomes.
- · Collaborate and contribute to system and process improvement recommendations by identifying issues
- · Monitor and manage workflow priorities to meet payroll deadlines and service commitments.
- · Provide guidance, coaching, training, and support to team members where required.
- · Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to initiatives that enhance payroll service delivery.
- · Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- · Escalate risks and complex issues appropriately to ensure compliance and service excellence.
About You The successful candidate must demonstrate strong capabilities in:
- · Demonstrated payroll experience in a complex payroll environment.
- · Experience interpreting legislation, awards, policies, guidelines, and employment conditions.
- · Strong knowledge of payroll processing and compliance requirements.
- · Technical expertise in one or more payroll specialisations, such as - Single Touch Payroll & Superannuation.
- · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve payroll issues effectively.
- · Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- · The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a high-volume setting.
- · Experience using payroll systems and technology to deliver efficient and accurate outcomes.
