Banjo Loans is looking for an experienced People & Culture Manager to lead our people function and support the next stage of our growth.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a broad, influential role with ownership across the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment, performance and development through to ER, remuneration, culture and compliance.
Banjo has strong policies, frameworks and processes already in place. We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of these foundations, continue to refine them as we grow, and become a trusted adviser to our CEO, leadership team and people managers.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced HR generalist who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on and is looking for genuine influence in a growing business.
What you'll be doing
You’ll take ownership of People & Culture across Banjo Loans, including:
- Partnering with the CEO and leadership team to deliver and evolve our P&C; strategy
- Providing practical, trusted advice to leaders and managers across all people matters
- Managing end-to-end recruitment and continuing to strengthen our onboarding experience
- Supporting managers with performance, feedback, development and performance improvement
- Managing employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinary processes and workplace investigations
- Overseeing remuneration reviews,
profit share arrangements and benefits administration in conjunction with the CEO
- Ensuring our HR policies, practices and documentation remain compliant and fit for purpose
- Identifying learning, development and succession opportunities across the business
- Driving initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, wellbeing, retention and culture
- Continuing to evolve our P&C; systems and processes as the organisation grows
- Playing an active role in bringing Banjo’s values and culture to life
About you
You’re an experienced People & Culture professional who is comfortable taking ownership and operating with a high degree of autonomy.
You’ll ideally bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
- 8 + years proven generalist HR/P&C; experience, ideally within a growing or evolving organisation
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and the Fair Work Act
- Hands-on experience across employee relations, performance management and recruitment
- The confidence and credibility to advise senior leaders and challenge constructively when required
- Excellent judgement, discretion and the ability to navigate sensitive people matters
- A pragmatic approach, you enjoy developing the strategy but are equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting things done
- Strong attention to detail and excellent process and documentation skill
- Experience within financial services, lending or another regulated environment would be highly regarded
- Experience with Employment Hero would also be an advantage.
