? Purchasing & Stores Officer – Ground Support Equipment (GSE)

We’re currently seeking an experienced Purchasing & Stores Officer to join a busy Ground Support Equipment (GSE) operation in Brisbane.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in GSE, aviation, fleet, transport, heavy equipment, automotive parts, engineering stores or workshop environments who enjoys combining purchasing, inventory and hands-on parts management.
? About the Role
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the right parts and equipment are sourced, available and managed efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing GSE spare parts inventory and stock levels
- Sourcing and ordering mechanical parts and equipment
- Managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing
- Maintaining parts databases and inventory records
- Coordinating parts availability, deliveries and collections
- Supporting technicians and workshop teams with parts requirements
- Conducting stocktakes and inventory reconciliation
- Comparing genuine vs non-genuine parts and repair vs replacement costs
- Reconciling invoices and resolving supplier queries
- Monitoring purchasing costs and budgets
- Managing hazardous materials and workshop consumables
✅ About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Current trade certification relevant to GSE / mechanical / airport operations
- Strong purchasing, procurement, stores or spare-parts experience
- Mechanical equipment knowledge
- Experience managing suppliers and negotiating pricing
- Solid inventory and stock-control skills
- Experience with IFS or similar ERP/fleet systems
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently within a small team
- ASIC eligibility
- Ability to work Monday–Friday, day shift
