Lead the future of infrastructure safety across Queensland. As Director (Infrastructure Safety), you will provide strategic leadership and expert advice on work health and safety (WHS) across Transport and Main Roads' Infrastructure Management and Delivery Division. Working closely with senior leaders, you will drive a culture of safety excellence, oversee the IMD WHS Delivery Model and lead a team of safety professionals supporting major infrastructure construction, maintenance and operational activities across the state. This is a unique prospect to influence safety outcomes at a strategic level, build strong industry partnerships and contribute to safer workplaces for thousands of employees and contractors. Key responsibilitiesAs Director (Infrastructure Safety), you will: - Provide strategic leadership and direction on WHS matters across the IMD Division. - Lead and continuously improve the IMD WHS Delivery Model to support effective risk management, legislative compliance and achievement of strategic safety objectives. - Lead a team of health and safety professionals delivering specialist safety services, operational safety management systems, contractor safety assurance and professional safety leadership. - Deliver high-level strategic and tactical advice to senior leaders on WHS governance, due diligence, performance and compliance requirements. - Influence and support leaders and managers to strengthen safety capability, culture and performance through engagement, education and guidance. - Build and maintain strong partnerships with government agencies,
transport authorities, industry associations, unions and delivery partners to advance safety outcomes and industry best practice. - Stay at the forefront of emerging safety risks, industry developments and evidencebased practices to ensure TMR remains a high-performing safety organisation. What we're looking forYou are a contemporary safety leader with demonstrated experience providing strategic leadership in complex, operational environments. You have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, strong professional credibility and the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives, managers and external partners. Your background may include work health and safety leadership, strategic planning, program or project management, governance, compliance or infrastructure-related operations.
