Australian Merino Exports (AME) is a successful, family-owned Australian wool business approaching 20 years of operation, with a robust industry reputation, established export operation and ambitious growth plans.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Wool Broker & Business Development Manager to grow an established brokerage portfolio, strengthen industry relationships and identify opportunities to increase wool volumes and expand AME's commercial footprint.

This is more than a brokerage role. You'll work directly with the Director and senior team, have genuine autonomy and influence, and play a key role in shaping AME's next stage of growth.

Importantly, this role has been created with long-term succession in mind, providing the opportunity for the right person to develop into a senior leadership position and ultimately transition into the role of General Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Manage and grow an established wool brokerage portfolio while developing new client relationships and business opportunities.
- Build on industry relationships and market knowledge to identify opportunities for sustainable growth.
- Provide trusted market advice and insights while building strong, long-term relationships with growers and industry stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Director, Operations Manager and wider team to strengthen commercial outcomes, processes and capability.
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the business while taking on increasing leadership responsibility over time.

About You

We're looking for an experienced wool professional who is ready to take their career beyond traditional brokerage.

You'll ideally bring:

- Proven experience as a wool broker within the Australian wool industry.
- Strong knowledge of wool markets, brokerage and the broader industry.
- An established network of wool growers and industry contacts.
- A proven ability to identify and develop commercial opportunities.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.




- Commercial drive and a genuine appetite for growth.
- Energy, initiative and an entrepreneurial approach.
- The confidence to represent a premium Australian wool business.
- A strong work ethic and genuine ownership of outcomes.

You'll be comfortable in a family-owned, entrepreneurial environment where relationships matter, initiative is valued and your contribution is highly visible.
