The Chance
At Shine Lawyers, we’re proud to shine a light on injustice, and make the world a better place, one client at a time. And as our full-time, permanent Practice Manager - Rockhampton, that starts with you - by providing local operational and people leadership to our Rockhampton branch, supporting an efficient, connected and client-focused team, within a purpose-led national firm.
This is a newly created, non-legal leadership role where you’ll work closely with our Head of Personal Injury, North Queensland, other practice managers in the region, and support teams, ensuring the branch runs smoothly, strengthening team engagement, and building meaningful referral relationships across the local community.
You’ll be the person who brings structure, energy and practical problem-solving to the day-to-day, while helping our people do their best work for clients who need us most.
With compassion, connection and purpose, you’ll help us right wrong by:
- Leading the day-to-day operations of our Rockhampton branch, with a focus on efficient, consistent and client-focused service delivery.
- Coordinating local resources, priorities and workflows so our teams are set up to perform at their best.
- Leading, supporting and developing Rockhampton team members, including performance, engagement, workforce planning and workload coordination.
- Identifying operational risks, service gaps and improvement opportunities, then implementing practical solutions that improve client and team outcomes.
- In conjunction with the Head of Personal Injury, North Queensland, supporting local business development, community engagement and referral partner relationships.
- Building trusted relationships with legal leaders, support functions, local businesses, community organisations and industry networks.
- Promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement, while maintaining clear boundaries between operational management and legal supervision.
What you’ll bring
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring strong operational leadership experience,
a practical mindset and the confidence to build relationships and drive referral networks. You’ll also have:
- Demonstrated experience leading the operations of a branch, practice, office or service-based business.
- Proven experience developing and executing local business development, community engagement or market growth initiatives.
- Strong networking and relationship management capability, with the ability to establish and maintain productive referral, stakeholder and community partnerships.
- Experience identifying opportunities to grow client demand, market presence or business performance through local engagement and relationship-building activities.
- Experience leading people, managing performance and building an engaged, accountable team.
- Strong organisational skills and experience improving processes, workflow quality and service delivery.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to interpret operational and business performance information and translate it into practical action.
- Confidence working autonomously and partnering with geographically dispersed leaders and specialist functions.
- Experience in professional services, health or medical practices, accounting, real estate or another client-focused environment is desirable.
- Existing networks and community connections within the Rockhampton region are highly regarded
- A tertiary qualification in business, management, commerce or a related discipline is desirable, but not essential for success - equivalent demonstrated experience will also be considered. Legal qualifications are not required.
