Sydney is sizzling, the silly season is coming, and some of the city's best kitchens are building their teams.

JRM Hospitality is currently partnering with a select group of leading Sydney hospitality operators to recruit several exceptional Sous Chefs and Senior Sous Chefs across the CBD.

These aren't generic kitchen vacancies. We're looking for accomplished restaurant chefs with refined cooking skills, strong leadership credentials and experience within premium, fast-paced environments.

The opportunities span established restaurants and exciting new openings, with kitchens delivering serious volume while maintaining a strong focus on quality, technique and consistency. Several of the roles have a strong focus on premium steaks, fire-led cooking, traditional french styles and contemporary Italian influences, making them particularly suited to chefs who combine technical ability with the confidence to lead busy services.

With salaries reaching $110K + super, these are excellent opportunities for experienced Sous Chefs looking to step into stronger kitchens, or Senior Sous Chefs ready to position themselves for their next move into Head Chef leadership.

The Role

* Lead from the front across prep and busy restaurant services, maintaining quality when the pressure is on.
* Support the Head Chef in driving standards, consistency and day-to-day kitchen performance.
* Mentor and develop junior chefs, helping create disciplined, positive and high-performing kitchen teams.
* Take ownership of sections, service execution and kitchen operations while remaining genuinely hands-on.
* Work with quality produce across premium, contemporary restaurant environments.
* Assist with ordering, stock control, food costs, labour and kitchen systems.




* Play an important role in recent openings, established kitchens and venues entering their busiest trading periods.

About You

* An experienced Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef with a strong premium restaurant background.
* Refined and technically capable - we're looking for chefs with genuine cooking credentials, not simply management experience.
* Previous experience in busy, quality-focused restaurants is essential.
* Steak, grill, fire-led, French, Italian or Italian-American restaurant experience will be particularly relevant across several opportunities.
* Confident leading teams and driving busy services while maintaining composure and standards.
* Passionate about mentoring chefs and contributing to a strong kitchen culture.
* Ambitious and looking for an opportunity that can continue developing you towards senior kitchen leadership.
* Full Australian working rights are essential. Sponsorship is not available for these positions.
