Manager, Casework Team

- Salary: $116,413 - $128,631 plus superannuation
- Tenure: Fixed term (12 months)
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 17 Hardware Lane, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified social worker or candidate with a related qualification to join the Study Melbourne team and help deliver a suite of welfare support services to international students whilst they study in Victoria. Reporting to the Manager, Study Melbourne Hub, you will lead the day-to-day operation of the casework service, overseeing intake, assessment, case planning, case allocation and case management systems to ensure high-quality, client-centred support. You will provide culturally responsive leadership and direct supervision to four caseworkers, manage risk and casework, and drive the ongoing development and improvement of policies, procedures, systems and service delivery practices. The role also involves stakeholder engagement, service promotion, data analysis and contributing to projects and initiatives that advance Study Melbourne's strategic goals.

Main Accountabilities

- Provides leadership in the adaptation and application of concepts to operational matters within the local work area.
- Manages a discrete function with limited budget or staff responsibilities.
- Provides specialist professional services or advice.
- Innovative thinking and analysis influences developments within area of responsibility.
- Focuses on understanding stakeholder issues and initiates and maintains relationships with peer and senior internal and external stakeholders.

The Team

The position of Manager, Casework Team forms a part of the Trade, Global Engagement, International Education and Migration branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment group.

Trade and Investment group works closely with businesses, locally and globally, to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. The Trade, Global Engagement, International Education and Migration branch supports trade, global engagement, international education and skilled and business migration, including delivering programs and services for international students and promoting Victoria as a destination of choice for international education.

The International Education and Study Melbourne team is responsible for supporting international education organisations and international students through promotion of the State as the ultimate study destination and delivering innovative student programs and services to ensure international students have the best possible experience living, working and studying in Victoria.

About You

You will bring demonstrated experience in managing people, holding yourself and your team accountable to public sector values and agreed performance standards, and anticipating and resolving issues to achieve outcomes. You will have robust innovation and continuous improvement skills, with the ability to review and analyse information to improve the effectiveness and quality of work and foster a team environment where innovation and creativity are encouraged. You will also demonstrate resilience and sound project delivery capability, with experience leading casework or social services teams,



managing service improvement and working with stakeholders.
