Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a WIL Officer to join Office of the Executive Dean, Faculty of Business and Law.

The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Officer is responsible for providing high-quality administrative and systems support for the Faculty of Business and Law's work-integrated learning activities. The role works closely with academic staff, students, professional staff, and industry partners to facilitate internships, industry projects, placements, and other real-world learning experiences that enhance student employability and career readiness. The position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the Faculty's WIL processes through the InPlace system, ensuring the accurate and timely management of placements, industry engagement opportunities, stakeholder communications, and associated documentation. Reporting to the Student Experience Manager, the WIL Officer plays an important role in delivering an effective and positive experience for students, academic staff, and industry partners while supporting the Faculty's commitment to real-world learning.

What you need to succeed

1. Completion of an associate diploma and at least two (2) years of subsequent relevant work experience.
2. Well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people from all levels and diverse backgrounds and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
3. Highly developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage a high volume of tasks efficiently to meet tight deadlines while also maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and data accuracy.
4. Demonstrated ability to provide a professional service in a busy client-oriented environment with evidence of the ability to attend promptly and courteously to client service provision.
5. Demonstrated computer literacy skills including proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs with the ability to function competently in a web-based systems environment. Experience in QUT systems (InPlace, SAMS, Canvas, QRecords, DEP) is highly regarded.
