Geelong

Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdiction's own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. MCV aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

- Identify and manage client risks through effective intervention and harm-minimisation strategies.
- Prepare high-quality court reports and provide advice to the Court as required.
- Build strong partnerships with service providers, court staff, legal practitioners and judicial officers.
- Contribute to practice improvements that enhance outcomes for clients with mental health and disability support needs.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold professional, ethical and legislative standards.

About You

You will bring:

- A relevant tertiary qualification (minimum Diploma level, degree highly regarded) in social work, psychology, welfare, alcohol and other drugs, community services, or a related discipline, and/or equivalent skilled experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing case management to clients with complex and intersecting needs, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: mental health, acquired brain injury, disability, alcohol and other drug use, family violence, or homelessness.
- Strong knowledge of mental health, disability and community service systems, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with service providers and key stakeholders.

- Sound understanding of evidence-informed practice models and frameworks for supporting individuals with complex mental health, disability, family violence and/or alcohol and other drug (AOD) needs.
- Excellent assessment, case formulation and risk management skills, with the ability to develop and implement tailored support plans.
- Highly developed written communication skills, including experience preparing professional reports, case notes and other documentation.
- A collaborative and client-centred approach, with a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for individuals with complex needs.
