About the Department / Program Engineering & Infrastructure Department is responsible to ensure that Monash Health facilities, buildings & infrastructure assets are managed & maintained at appropriate standards for critical health services delivery. We are responsible for a range of capital/minor works projects, infrastructure and assets replacement programs. We are responsible to ensure all our buildings, facilities & infrastructure are built & maintained to meet all relevant mandatory statutory regulations, codes, standards & guidelines.

About the Role Join our team as an A Grade Electrician on a full time 5 day position to work at Kingston Centre Hospital based at Cheltenham. In this role,



you will be guided under the leadership of the Facilities Manager and working with the broader Trade and Facilities team.

- This hands on role encompasses the inspection, repair and diagnosis of electrical faults with hospital plant and equipment to ensure it’s safe, reliable and efficient operation.

- Electrical installation work will be required.
- Assist with the effective management and operation of the electrical LV and HV infrastructure operations and maintenance.
- Assist with the effective management of the programed planned maintenance regime for the electrical infrastructure and assets.
- Manage reactive and planned maintenance requests using CMMS.
- Review and update asset registry as required.
- Assist with writing technical specifications, scopes, tendering and procure services within MH policies and guidelines when requested.
- Assist with effective contract management & contractor conformance with contract requirements & OHS legislation.
- Become actively involved and support the engineering managers to deliver facilities management services across Monash Health facilities when requested.
- Maintain a regular cycle of risk identification, assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Provide advice regarding other key areas of planning, generate ideas and provide innovative solutions to enhance delivery of maintenance and electrical services.
- As a member of the Engineering Electrical team the position will actively lead and promote the Vision, Mission and values of Monash Health,



be customer focused and participate in the development and review of the Engineering Services strategic plan when requested.
- Participate in the MH Electrical department after hours on call roster.
- Other duties as directed that is consistent with the employee’s skills & classification

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:

- Must have previous maintenance experience preferably in hospitals or similar size commercial environment.
- Strong technical knowledge, experience and skills
- Ability to understand & interpret drawings and technical specifications
- Excellent communication and relationship skills with ability to work with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and robust solution orientation
- Experience using CMMS

Mandatory requirements of the role

- An A Class electrical license is required.
- A high degree of competency in the application of the relevant Australian Standards, Building Codes, Essential Services Regulations and other statutory, regulatory and OH&S; legislation.
- EWP License preferred
- Working with Children Card
