Clinical Nurses – Bring Your Expertise to Primary Care

Your new role:

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide advanced clinical care, problem-solving, planning and coordination for patients presenting with urgent and complex care needs, while providing clinical leadership across the healthcare team. You will:

- Deliver advanced, safe and compassionate person-centred nursing care, applying high-level clinical judgement to complex presentations.
- Undertake triage and urgent care, using your advanced clinical assessment, decision-making and problem-solving skills to support appropriate patient management.
- Provide clinical leadership through delegation, supervision, mentoring and role modelling, while supporting effective teamwork and service delivery.
- Contribute to education, research, quality improvement and service development, helping strengthen clinical practice and patient outcomes.

About you:

We are looking for experienced Clinical Nurses who bring advanced clinical capability, strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You have:

- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in managing undifferentiated urgent care, including aged and frail patients.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Australian Triage Scale (ATS) triage, with Advanced Life Support and paediatric life support skills.
- Strong clinical leadership, communication and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to coordinate care, delegate effectively and support colleagues.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice, education, quality improvement and ongoing professional development

Unit Profile

Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre, Gundu Pa is a state-of-the-art public health facility for the Wynnum and Manly areas providing a range of services under one roof, including a 24-hour Primary Care Centre, Addiction and Mental Health, Allied Health, Breast Screen Queensland, Child Development, Chronic Disease, Oral Health and Specialist Outpatients. The 24-hour Primary Care Centre is a walk-in service and designed to treat less urgent/minor injuries and illnesses. The Pandanus Ward is in Casuarina Lodge and comprises eight (8) general health care beds for the Wynnum and Manly community.
