Position Objective:
The Principal Psychologist - Personality Disorder Specialist provides expert clinical leadership to advance best-practice assessment, treatment and support for consumers with personality disorder across Forensicare. The role champions contemporary, evidence-informed approaches, strengthens workforce capability and supports the delivery of high-quality psychological care for individuals with severe personality disorders within forensic mental health settings.
Duties:
- Lead and deliver specialist clinical education, consultation and workforce development initiatives relating to personality disorder and forensic mental health.
- Provide expert advice to clinical and program leaders, contributing to strategic planning, service development and evaluation activities.
- Build capability across multidisciplinary teams through supervision, consultation and implementation of best-practice frameworks.
- Foster solid partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service integration and support consumer recovery.
- Contribute to research, innovation and the translation of contemporary evidence into clinical practice.
About You:
You are a highly experienced and respected psychologist with a passion for improving outcomes for people with complex personality disorders. You bring significant clinical expertise, strong leadership capability and a commitment to evidence-based, trauma-informed care.
- Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and an Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology and/or Forensic Psychology.
- Masters or Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology OR a Doctoral degree in Forensic Psychology.
- APHRA registration.
- Extensive experience providing assessment, treatment and consultation to individuals with severe and complex personality disorders.
- Proven experience leading,
mentoring and supporting clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.
- Expertise in contemporary personality disorder interventions, forensic risk formulation and trauma-informed practice.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and training delivery skills.
