Introduction

We are seeking a passionate, organised, and visionary leader to join our community as Head of Sport (P-12). The successful applicant will play an integral role in leading and coordinating our sporting program while contributing to the life and mission of a thriving Lutheran school.

St John's Lutheran School is a dynamic Prep to Year 12 Lutheran school with a current enrolment of more than 720 students. We are proud of our strong sense of community, Christ-centred ethos, and commitment to excellence in academic, cultural, pastoral, and co-curricular programs.

The Position
The Head of Sport (P-12)
is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational management of the school's sporting program from Prep to Year 12.
Working closely with students, staff, coaches, parents, and external sporting organisations, the successful applicant will:
- Lead the development and implementation of a vibrant and comprehensive sporting program.
- HPE P-12 Curriculum Oversight
- Promote high levels of participation, engagement, sportsmanship, and excellence across all year levels.
- Coordinate interschool sport, carnivals, representative pathways, and sporting events.
- Manage sporting budgets, facilities, resources, and risk management processes.
- Recruit, support, and oversee coaches and sporting personnel.
- Foster positive relationships with local sporting organisations and community partners.
- Champion student wellbeing and the educational value of sport within a balanced school experience.
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and support its Christian mission and values.
This is a full-time permanent position and includes an associated teaching load suitable to the successful applicant's qualifications and experience.
The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to student learning, pastoral care, and a growth mindset.

- Hold current (or provisional) registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
