Direct Support Worker - Ipswich
- Seeking Disability Support Workers who understand the importance of being person centered, and supporting in all areas of one's life.
- Must have experience in 1:1 manual handling and working with PBS plans.
- Minimum 6-12 months experience in 1:1 manual handling is required.
- Minimum 6-12 months experience working with PBS plans is required.
- Must have flexibility to work on a 24/7 roster in Ipswich Queensland INCLUDING weekends and sleepovers.
- Must be fluent in both spoken and written English.
We are needing Direct Support Workers in Ipswich and surrounding areas to work in our SIL homes and across our Respite (STA) accommodation.
Variety of shifts - between 2 hours and 10 hours – rostered across mornings, afternoons, overnight and also weekends. Capacity to work most days/times is a definite advantage.
Shifts available working with adults and with children.
As a Support Worker, you will be expected to assist with:
- Personal care - including showering, toileting, dressing, oral hygiene, etc.
- Supporting with transfers using hoists and/or slide sheets, and general assistance with mobility.
- Administering medications.
- Domestic duties including meal preparation, general cleaning and laundry.
- Community engagement, such as attending appointments, grocery shopping or social activities of client choice.
- General engagement in activities and support with building skills both inside and outside of the home.
- Have strong English written and spoken skills.

Before you commence, you will need:
- NDIS Workers Orientation Module Certificate
- Blue Card (Working with Children Card)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (Working with Individuals with Disabilities, formerly a Yellow Card)
- Valid Australian Driver's License and Use of a reliable car
- Proof of Right to Work in Australia (Birth certificate, passport/visa, citizenship certificate)
