Kareena Private Hospital is a dynamic acute care 142 bed facility. Kareena caters for a full range of specialties including cardiology, orthopaedics, general surgery, colorectal surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, general medicine, geriatric medicine, rehabilitation, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, ophthalmology, paediatrics, respiratory medicine and vascular surgery. Radiology and pathology services are also available on site.

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join our Day Surgery/Pre-Admission Clinic on a permanent part-time basis. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse committed to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating and evaluating the care delivery needs of each individual patient prior to the patient’s surgery.

You will work alongside skilled and supportive healthcare professionals in an setting that values clinical excellence, teamwork, and ongoing development. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your nursing career while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring excellent clinical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. You will also be a proactive, team-oriented individual.





Skills and Experience Required:

- Minimum 2 years’ post-grad surgical experience, or previous experience in a similar pre-admission role.
- Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team and at times autonomously
- Highly organised with a proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service
- Demonstrates strong adaptability in dynamic situations
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
- Responsible for conducting nurse-led pre-admission clinics and performing baseline observations (eg. QADD’s, 12-lead ECG, providing pathology requests and advising Surgeon of any results outside of parameters prior to surgery)
