About the role

As a Tilt Tray/Tow Truck Operator with Freers Panel Works 24HR Towing, you are responsible for delivering a professional, secure, and reliable towing and roadside assistance service throughout the Goulburn Valley and surrounding regions. You are often the first person customers meet following a vehicle breakdown or accident, making professionalism, compassion, and excellent customer service essential. You will respond to accident towing, roadside assistance, breakdowns, vehicle recoveries, insurance towing, trade towing, machinery transport, and vehicle relocations while ensuring the highest standards of safety and care.

Key responsibilities

- Attend vehicle accidents promptly and professionally
- Respond to roadside breakdowns and emergency call-outs
- Recover damaged, unregistered, bogged, or disabled vehicles
- Liaise professionally with Victoria Police, emergency services, roadside assistance providers, insurance companies, and customers
- Maintain calm and professional behaviour during high-pressure situations
- Safely load, transport, and unload vehicles using tilt tray equipment
- Transport vehicles to repairers, dealerships, auctions, storage yards, customer homes, and insurance assessment centres




- Ensure all loads are correctly restrained and comply with transport legislation
- Complete vehicle inspections before loading and upon delivery
- Provide roadside assistance including battery jump starts, flat tyre assistance, emergency fuel delivery, vehicle lockout assistance, and minor roadside fault diagnosis

About you

- Current Australian Driver Licence (MR Licence or higher preferred)
- Victorian Tow Truck Driver Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, public holidays, and after-hours
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to lift, secure, and operate towing equipment safely
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and perform manual tasks
