About the role

Responsible for the daily preparation of food items in a café environment, setting up stations according to restaurant guidelines and ensuring all food is prepared in a sanitary and timely manner.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare all food items as directed, following recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications

- Set up station according to restaurant guidelines

- Conduct line checks prior to service and fill out station inventory sheets at the end of service

- Manage and maintain relevant prep and par levels

- Restock all items as needed throughout shift

- Clean and maintain station, practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills

- Ensure quality and safety of food by performing standard and additional sanitary measures, including sweeping floors, cleaning surfaces, and proper covering and storage of food items

- Respond in a positive and timely manner to all requests and feedback

- Uphold a protected working environment





- Contribute to positively impacting the morale of the kitchen staff

About you

- Minimum 2 years of cooking experience required

- Demonstrated knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation required

- Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling required

- Effective communication skills

- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

- Highly effective teamwork skills

- Attention to detail in all areas of work

- Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision

- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills

- Warm and welcoming disposition and empathy for other people
