Operated by Elizabeth Andrews Catering, the Twelve Apostles Café forms the hospitality sector within the new Twelve Apostles Visitor Experience Centre on Victoria’s spectacular Great Ocean Road. Welcoming more than two million visitors each year, the hospitality sector includes a 160-seat indoor café and restaurant, a 68-seat outdoor dining terrace, a premium grab-and-go kiosk, Timboon ice cream bar, a takeaway kiosk, and catering for tour groups and special events.

We are seeking a passionate and reliable Chef to join our kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to further their hospitality career in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while working at one of Victoria's most recognised tourist destinations.

About the Role

As a Chef, you will work closely with our Head Chef and kitchen team to prepare and present high-quality meals across our café, restaurant, and function operations. You will play an important role in maintaining food quality, consistency, and kitchen efficiency while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and presentation standards.

- Ensure all dishes are produced consistently and efficiently during service.

- Assist with food preparation and mise en place for daily operations.

- Maintain high standards of food quality, portion control, and presentation.

- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.

- Assist with stock rotation, stock control, and minimising food waste.

- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.





- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and Front of House teams to ensure efficient service.

- Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture.

- Perform other kitchen duties as directed by the Head Chef.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- 1–2 years' experience working as a Chef in a café, restaurant, hotel, or similar hospitality environment.

- A relevant commercial cookery qualification (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).

- A genuine passion for food and hospitality.

- The ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced, high-volume kitchen.

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

- The ability to remain calm and perform well under pressure.

- Available to work weekdays, weekends, public holidays, and peak tourism periods.

Desirable Applicants

The following will be highly regarded:

- Experience working in high-volume cafés, tourism venues, or busy restaurants.

- Knowledge of stock control and food cost management.

- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.

- Experience working with diverse menus and dietary requirements.

- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster.
