2/2 FIFO from Perth | Permanent Core Crew
West Pilbara Conveyors (WPC) is looking for an experienced Leading Hand Belt Splicer to join our growing team on a permanent 2/2 FIFO roster from Perth.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a full time long-term position within a supportive crew, where you can take on a leadership role reporting into the crew supervisor and contribute to the growth of the team and build your future alongside WPC.
About the Role
As a Leading Hand Belt Splicer, you will play an important hands-on leadership role, working closely with the Site Supervisor to support the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of conveyor belt maintenance and splicing activities.
The role is suited to an experienced Level 3 Belt Splicer who enjoys being on the tools while also taking responsibility for supporting and leading a crew. It would be desirable that the successful person has some computer experience, however WPC is prepared to teach the individual if they are technically proficient in belt splicing.
You’ll be an significant part of maintaining a positive and productive team environment, helping coordinate daily works, supporting less experienced team members and ensuring WPC’s high standards of safety and workmanship are maintained on site.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting Belt Splicers and other crew members during site activities.
- Coordinating day-to-day conveyor belt maintenance, repairs, change-outs and splicing works.
- Providing hands-on technical leadership and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures, work packs and client requirements.
- Conducting pre-starts, task planning, JHAs and other required site documentation.
- Monitoring job progress, crew resources, and work priorities throughout the shift.
- Providing guidance, mentoring and technical support to less experienced team members.
- Maintaining effective communication with the Site Supervisor, WPC management and client representatives.
- Assisting with incident reporting, safety observations and corrective actions where required.
- Stepping into the Site Supervisor role when required to support the safe and effective continuation of site operations.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who brings strong technical experience, leadership capability and, most importantly, a positive and team-focused attitude.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Extensive hands-on experience as a Level 3 Belt Splicer.
- S26 qualification – Desirable, however will be required to attain qualification upon commencing the role.
- Previous experience in a Leading Hand, Supervisor or senior crew position within conveyor maintenance or similar mining operations is desirable.
- Strong practical experience across conveyor belt installation, splicing, repairs, maintenance, breakdowns and belt change-outs.
- The ability to confidently lead and support a crew while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork.
- A sound understanding of isolations, permits, risk assessments and site safety requirements.
- The experience and confidence to step up and take on additional leadership responsibilities when required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with crew members, supervisors and client representatives.
- A reliable, hardworking and team-focused attitude, with a willingness to support others and contribute to a positive crew environment.
- Commitment to a permanent 2/2 Core Crew roster.
- A current Australian driver's license.
- The ability to successfully complete all required site medical, drug and alcohol screening and mobilisation requirements.
