About the Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Services Superintendent to join our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. In this role, you will report to the Technical Services Manager and work on an 8:6 roster.
Your focus will be on providing leadership, direction and management to Mine Planning, Scheduling, Geotechnical and Ventilation teams at Golden Grove Operations, ensuring all work is completed in compliance with company standards and procedures.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Develop, maintain and implement a Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP) in line with the statutory guidelines, along with supporting documentation including standards, procedures, TARPs and verification processes.
- Oversee the activities of the geotechnical team to ensure inspections, data gathering, mine design, instrumentation, monitoring, QAQC verification activities, reporting and excavation performance reviews are completed as per GCMP requirements.
- Oversee the activities of the ventilation team to ensure inspections, data gathering, design, instrumentation, monitoring and reporting activities are completed as per VMP requirements.
- Act as owner of the Deswik. MDM database and supporting systems, establishing and managing workflows,
QAQC processes and continuous improvement projects to provide a fit for purpose master design and survey repository, accurately reflecting the current underground void status.
- Oversee the development and execution of short and medium term mine designs, schedules, and production strategies to meet business targets.
- Critically review and optimise short and medium-term designs, schedules and other documents created by the team.
- Coordinate discipline input into the annual Budget planning process including assumptions, schedule inventory and mine plan scenario iterations.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have a robust background in underground Technical Services, including previous experience in coordinator or superintendent-level roles.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
- Underground mining risk management process – development and application.
- Practical knowledge of underground mining techniques, including longhole stoping with backfill.
- Strong and varied understanding of technical services disciplines; core functions and strategic fit into the mining process.
- Mine design, scheduling and approval processes (long/medium/short term).
- Skilled at building,
maintaining and leveraging effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills, able to drive performance within your team.
- Recognised and relevant Tertiary Degree, i.e. Bachelor of Science / Engineering (Mining, Geology or Geological / Geotechnical Engineering).
- C class drivers licence or recognised equivalent.
- Ability to pass a 29Metals medical to operate unrestricted in an underground mine environment.
