ABCARE Disability Support is continuing to grow, and we are looking for experienced Disability Support Practitioners who genuinely enjoy making a difference in people's lives.

About the Role





This is not an entry-level position.

You will provide one-on-one supports to people living with disability in their own homes and within the community.

Our participants have varying support needs, including personal care, manual handling, community access, medication assistance and complex supports.

Please note: ABCARE Disability Support does not provide Supported Independent Living (SIL). Our supports are delivered exclusively in participants' homes and the community.

The successful applicant will be confident working independently while maintaining regular communication with management and the broader team.

The role may include:

- Intensive personal care

- Community access

- Medication assistance

- Manual handling and hoisting

- Domestic assistance

- Complex support needs including enteral feeding, epilepsy support

- Documentation and progress notes

- Supporting participant goals

- Working within individual support plans and NDIS guidelines

Applicants should be physically capable of performing manual handling duties. A pre-employment medical assessment may be requested.

Essential Criteria

We're looking for someone who has:

- Demonstrated experience as a Disability Support Practitioner, Aged Care Worker or Enrolled/Registered Nurse

- Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support or Aged Care (or currently completing a relevant tertiary qualification)





- Experience providing personal care

- Manual handling and hoisting experience

- Medication administration experience

- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

- A genuine commitment to person-centred support

- Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, weekends and public holidays as required

- A desire to build long-term relationships with participants

- Ability to complete details accurate and objective progress notes and documentation

- Applicants must have unrestricted working rights within Australia

You will also require:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Working With Children Check

- National Police Check (within the past 3 months)

- Current First Aid and CPR

- Current Driver Licence

- Registered and comprehensively insured vehicle

- Completion of NDIS Mandatory Training Modules

- NSW Driving History Report

- Access to a computer or laptop
